Sleep please?

It's Mommy and Daddy who ask Kaylani to sleep for us everyday. We ask her to nap 2-3 times a day and to stay asleep for at least 8 hours at night. And lately, she's been great and doing everything we ask of her. So you might wonder why we decided to mess that all up. We're kinda hoping we didn't...yet.

As I've mentioned before, we've got a full house this week, and especially this weekend. And since this is the first time most of them have been to NJ, we played the role of tour guide and took them into beautiful downtown Princeton. But in order for us to do that, we had to play with Kaylani's nap time just a little bit. Okay, maybe a lot.

This morning, she fell asleep 5 minutes before we got to swim class. That meant nap #1 was about 55 minutes shorter than normal. Nap #2 after swim class (which was really nap #1) lasted only 20 minutes, so still 35 minutes short. Nap #3 on the way to Princeton lasted another 20 minutes, and nap #4 at 3:30pm was the same. So, by 4pm, Kaylani had finally slept over an hour across 4 naps since we kept waking her up and moving her around.

At 5:30pm, we were headed home and of course Kaylani fell asleep out of pure exhaustion. Feeling bad for her, Daddy drove around for an extra hour to let her get at least a solid nap in before the night festivities. Thankfully she did, and that made her much more content in being passed around from Abuela to Abuelo or to Titi and Tio (both sets of them). It even made her able to handle being outside for some BBQ and dominos (Puerto Rican style)!

Now it's 9:15pm and we're asking her to sleep for real. This time we promise not to wake her up after 5 minutes, 20 minutes, or even an hour. Hopefully she'll be okay with that. Since we've got such a full house, we'll be sharing a room with her tonight, and the one thing we all need is a lot of sleep. So here's to hoping that nothing messes that up. Oh, and come back tomorrow to read about Kaylani's first swim class! Mommy went a little picture happy so we'll have lots of those to share as well! As for now, its time to say goodnight to Kaylani! We're off to eat more BBQ and to play dominos with the rest of the fam!

As someone who hasn't had a baby in the house for eons, forgive me for giggling at your nap stats. :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed that she sleeps tonight! And if she doesn't, don't worry...there's always tomorrow. Good luck!

I'd be grumpy if someone kept waking me up from my naps. LOL Kaylani seems like a trooper. I'm sure she likes visiting with her grandparents and aunt and uncle.
I hope she slept last night and got her naps in today. If not, I'm sure she'll sleept tonight.

Thanks guys! She slept alright last night. I mean, she slept 9 hours which meant she woke up at 6:30. And since we were in there with her, we couldn't let her hang out for a few minutes!

Her naps went much better tonight so we're expecting a great one! Only time will tell..
