Peek-a-boo!

"Where's Kaylani? There she is!" Repeat that 10-20 times and chances are that you just played Peek-a-boo with Kaylani. If you repeated that 10-20 times and didn't, well then I think you should seek help. Now it's possible that Mommy and Daddy should seek help for other things, but we do play peek-a-boo with Kaylani quite a bit because she loves it, and it's the funniest thing to see.

I find myself always wondering what goes through her head whenever we play peek-a-boo. First of all, can she even understand us when we say "Where's Kaylani?" And if she does, is she thinking to herself, "I'm right here dummy!" Or does she really think that we have no idea where she is? The more appropriate thing to say would be "Where's Daddy?" or "Where's Mommy?", but oddly enough, we don't get the same reaction out of her when we do that. Maybe she really doesn't know where Mommy or Daddy disappear to, which would validate the "I'm right here dummy!" thoughts when we say "Where's Kaylani?"

In any case, it never gets old for her. Well, I guess it does since she cries out when she's had enough, but if you give it a few minutes, she'll play again. And it's not like she just tolerates it, she actually likes it most of the time. You can tell she likes it by the way she smiles. It's not just a normal smile, but it's a curl into a ball, hands covering the face type of smile. It's the cutest thing ever and is completely worth saying "Where's Kaylani? There she is!" 10-20 times in a row.

And to prove it to you, here's a video of her playing peek-a-boo with Daddy. It looks like an odd setup with the two pillows, but the one on the side was to keep her from looking around too much. For me, this was really funny to see because I've never been able to see what she does when she's "hiding!"
