There's no possible way we could ever call Kaylani noisy. She cries quietly, she talks quietly, and she even farts quietly (too much information?). But she's learned to make a certain noise that drives Mommy and Daddy crazy. It's not loud, and it's not screechy, but it's worse. It's this odd gasping noise that always makes us think that she's having a hard time breathing, and we wish she would stop!
The first few times, we really thought she was struggling, and that we were doing something wrong. It was actually quite comparable to the noise she would make when she was choking on the Poly-vi-sol before we gave her Tri-vi-sol as described here. But now we think it's actually just a noise she picked up from somewhere and just likes to repeat it. Half the time she makes it, she's actually smiling or trying to laugh. So it's almost like this is a silent squeal of joy that sounds more like a painful gasp for air.
The other noises she makes are downright adorable. She can squeal, or giggle, or talk, or laugh (we're dying to hear her laugh again!). She can do anything she wants, as long as it's not make this gasping noise! We're not quite sure how to tell a 3 month old not to do something, but I'm pretty sure this is only going to get harder as she gets older. Can't wait until she starts repeating everything we say. Can't wait until she starts repeating everything we say. But until then, let's just hope this noise turns into something cuter. But until then, let's just hope this noise turns into something cuter.
