Hershey Kisses

There are certain things that have such high branding that just the mention of it will give everyone an idea of what you're talking about. For instance, people will say "pass me a Kleenex" instead of a "tissue." In Puerto Rico, they'll say "I need more Pampers" instead of "diapers." Hershey Kisses are the same way. Everyone knows the size of a Hershey Kiss and everyone knows the color of a Hershey Kiss. What you may not want to know is how that branding awareness is being used in our house now.

Ever since Kaylani started eating her vegetables (she's on her second day of Sweet Potatoes now after finishing carrots and squash) she's been pooping more regularly. She hasn't been constipated or had any blow outs since back in the barley/prune days (which we probably shouldn't have mixed anyways). But besides the fact that she's more regular now, she's also pooping more solidly now.

It's important for us to keep track of how often and how much she poops so we know how she may be reacting to the new food we give her every 3-4 days. You may recall that the description of her poop used to be "chocolate soft serve ice cream" way back in the day. I thought that was a pretty good description of the consistency, and when you add "machine stuck in the on position," that helps give the quantity part of it. Nowadays, we use the phrase "like a Hershey Kiss" to describe her poop.

It fits it perfectly. It's about the same size as a Hershey Kiss, definitely the same color, and sometimes, it's even the same shape. And the best part of it (for Kaylani), is that it comes right out. I guess you can call her a Hershey Kiss dispenser now. Sometimes we use different descriptors, like "rabbit poop" when it's a few small little balls of poop, but more often then not, it's Hershey Kiss that fits the bill, or the poop as the case may be.
